Women on antidepressants do experience a lull in their sex life, as sexual functioning can get impaired by antidepressant use.
Can there be an easy way to improve lifestyle and alleviate some of the side effects to sexual functioning caused by antidepressants?A recent insight by a team of researchers at the University of Texas at Austin has found that exercise helps boost sexual functioning impaired by antidepressant use.
In the study, scientists found that female participants who experienced sexual side-effects associated with anti-depressant use found improvement with exercise. Exercise would mean any form of cardiovascular exercise and strength training, for instance- walking, cycling, swimming or a work out at the gym.
Regular exercise was found to improve orgasms. Further, exercise has been known to improve depression even among patients who were not receiving any form of treatment.
