AYURVEDA GOES GLOBAL

AYUSH DARPAN NEWS VARANASI:Tel Aviv isn't just giving India tips on how to fight terror.but its also learning something-the ancient science of Ayurveda.
Tel Aviv -based school of Complimentary and Alternative Medicine is working proactively with India in developing Ayurveda as a full fledged system of Medicine in Israel.
And the tie-up between the Tel-Aviv based medical school and Jamnagar based Gujrat Ayurveda University is n't new but over five years old.

"We have helped them in all aspects,from drawing Ayurveda syllabus to reindering suitalble lessons in their course material and giving professional space at Jamnagar for internship and training to interns,"said Prof M.S.Baghel,Director of Institute of Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda(IPGTRA-Jamnagar)which is a part of Gujrat Ayurveda University.
Formerly Director of International Centre for Ayurveda at Gujrat Ayurveda University,Baghel said,first batch of Diploma holders in Ayurveda from Tel Aviv has passed the four year weekened course and interns have not only done internship training at the Institution,but also at private Ayurveda colleges in Udupi and Hasan (in Karnataka).
But Israil is not only the country learning the Ayurveda .Nations like Germany,Japan,Korea,the Netherlands and Argentina are working actively to promote Ayurveda there.
Baghel spoke of a unique bilateral agreement between his University and two German Institutes has developed Ayurvedic protocols against Parkinson's Disease and holistic Geriatric Management.
"As per the trilateral pact,we've developed Ayurvedic protocols for research in Parkinson's Disease,particularly the role of Panchakarma therapy in such geriatric diseases,"said Baghel,adding that path breaking research on Panchakarma treating neurological disorders which can't be treated by Modern Medicine has been underway at Jamanagar for decades and findings published in many reputed journals across the world.
The story doesn't with Germany.A group of 20 experts from Korea's Jeonju University will reach Jamnagar in August to learn the nuances of Ayurvedic beauty care,actualised as part of an MoU with the Korean University an year ago.Another MoU with Korean varsity is in pipeline on natural cosmetics as their is great demand for natural cosmetics among beauty conscious women in Korea.
Lately 5 States in US have also recognised BAMS degree and Ten institutions have already begun it in California,Mississippi and New Maxico,added Baghel,who was the chief guest at the annual day Function of IMS-BHU.
