In recent days lot of negative comments has been raised in western media regarding Homeopathy.Pseudoscience and Dangerous like terms used for this Pathy.

Dear Editor,
Melissa LeClair [Claims baseless, April 1 Letters, www.langleyadvance.com] responded to my earlier letter [Pseudoscience dangerous, March 1 Letters, Langley Advance] in a lengthy, rambling manner, and didn’t provide any hard evidence for homeopathy. In fact, nobody ever has.
No study has ever proven efficacy or proven the principles on which homeopathy is based. Some studies have shown potential promise, but every single one of those has been falsified or was not a proper scientific study.
James Randi offers a $1 million prize to anybody who can prove homeopathy in a scientific trial. Nobody has taken him up on it in over 20 years.
Of course, why subject yourself to scientific scrutiny when you have thousands, perhaps millions of people who are willing to believe incredible claims with no evidence behind them?
I cringe when Mrs. LeClair says she advocates homeopathy for children.
Innocent children have died because their parents neglected to take them to an “allopath.”
Science saves. Homeopathy does, indeed, kill.
Ask the parents of Lori Atikian, who died because her parents shared Mrs. LeClair’s irrational paranoia about modern medicine and non-organic food. She died of malnutrition and pneumonia at age 17 months.
Or Cameron Ayres, who at six months died of a treatable condition because he was refused proper treatment in favour of homeopathy.
Or Gloria Thomas, who was treated with homeopathy instead of “allopathy” for her eczema, and died at age nine months.
How dare people like Melissa LeClaire subject defenseless children and the ill people in this world to fake medicine.
How dare companies sell sugar pills with no active ingredient as medicine? How dare pharmacies sell them next to real medicine?
And finally, how dare Health Canada and the government of Canada not look out for the wellbeing of its citizens? Shame on all of them.
