Cholesterol: Give Homeopathy a Chance

Cholesterol is a soft waxy fat-like substance that is naturally produced by the body. About 80% of cholesterolis produced by the liver, while the rest comes from the diet we eat. Dietary cholesterol comes mainly from meat, poultry and dairy products.High cholesterol means that too much fat is circulating in the body. This may develop fatty deposits in blood vessels. Eventually these deposits make it difficult for blood to flow freely through arteries. As a result heart may not get as much oxygen-rich blood as it needs increasing the risk of a heart attack. Decreased blood flow to brain can also cause a stroke.LDL cholesterol is called “bad” cholesterol, because high levels of LDL cholesterol are associated with an increased risk of coronary heart disease. LDL lipoprotein deposits cholesterol on the artery walls, causing the formation of a hard, thick substance called cholesterol plaque. Over time, cholesterol plaque causes thickening of the artery walls and narrowing of the arteries.HDL cholesterol is called “good cholesterol” because HDL cholesterol particles prevent atherosclerosis by extracting cholesterol from the artery walls and disposing them of through the liver.Triglyceride is a form of fat. People with high triglycerides often have a high total cholesterol level, including high LDL (bad) cholesterol and low HDL (good) cholesterol levels.Total cholesterol is the sum of LDL (low density) cholesterol, HDL (high density) cholesterol, VLDL (very low density) cholesterol, and IDL (intermediate density) cholesterol. Many factors affect cholesterol level; some can be controlled as diet, weight, and amount of physical activity while others such as age, gender, and heredity cannot be controlled. The fact is that the older we get the higher blood cholesterol levels we get.Cholesterol is also important in performing several biological functions. It is required to build and maintain cell membranes and to regulate the membrane fluidity over a wider range of temperatures. A research also indicated that cholesterol may even act as an antioxidant!Cholesterol-lowering drugs, including statins, are among top sellers nationally and globally. More than a million prescriptions for cholesterol-lowering drugs, with great side-effects, were dispensed by retail pharmacies in 2009, inappropriately, in the US alone. The cardiologists all over the world keep drugging the patients with life-long treatments without any hope of permanent cure. One of my patients shared his observation with me in these words:“Doctor whenever I visit my cardiologist he adds some new medicines and discontinues some medicines from my previous prescription but the total number of medicines remains the same i.e. one tablet for heart burn, one for blood pressure, one blood thinner, one for sleep, one for knee pain, two for frequent urination, one for swelling of face or body, three for constipation, one for burning-feet [neuropathy], one for loweringcholesterol levels and one for diabetes and Mucaine for acidity. Oh my God! And he warns me never to think about discontinuing the treatment the rest of my life.”Here are a few examples of cases that had very high cholesterol levels and after just a few weeks of homeopathic treatment their cholesterol levels dropped to normal limits.Dr Cheema from Sargodha visited me for the treatment of his high triglycerides and LDLs. He was already taking a blood thinner and a cholesterol lowering medicine. After just 20 days of homeopathic treatment the result was within the recommended values. He was much amazed to listen that he needed no more treatment to maintain his cholesterol levels.Mr Abdul Qudoos Shafi, an engineer by profession, from Islamabad, consulted me for his weak digestion, knee pain and very high cholesterol levels. A homeopathic medicine was prescribed which best suited his symptoms. By the grace of Allah, his blood cholesterol levels were within the normal limits after just a month’s treatment.Mr Irfan Khan from Lahore had his blood cholesterol touching the threatening levels before he started the homeopathic treatment. After only three week’s treatment his blood cholesterol levels were within the normal limits.Mr Kashif Bin Asif from Saudi Arabia came to me with a reference of one of my patients for the treatment of his diabetes. He also had very high blood cholesterol levels. In his case also, by the grace of Allah, in less than a month his blood cholesterol levels came down to normal limits.Homeopathy is very much effective in the treatment of high cholesterol levels but unfortunately this great blessing is being ignored.
