The British Heart Foundation (BHF) has warned dieters against a fake diet plan which asked them to feast on frankfurters for dinner. The unappetizing diet constituted of two frankfurters with a cup of cabbage and half a cup of carrots for a meal. The BHF condemned it as a 'faddy crash diet' which could be detrimental in the long-run as this diet could leave people lacking essential nutrients like calcium and iron. Constipation could also be a problem with the dieters as the diet lacks in fiber. With such crash diets people are more likely to lose water and some muscle rather than the fat they really want to shed.
The BHF has its own weight loss diet plan plan which encourages people to include healthy food like fiber-rich cereal for breakfast, butternut squash soup with wholemeal bread for lunch, and pasta with fish, a salad, Greek yoghurt and fruit for dinner.
