Three HIV-infected Sisters Commit Suicide

In an extremely tragic case, three HIV-infected sisters from Khadaliya village of Vartej taluka in Bhavnagar district committed suicide by consuming pesticides at their home on Friday night.
All three minor girls took this extreme step allegedly to escape societal stigma which they have been facing for many years.The whole family was HIV infected . The mother of the three girls had died due to HIV related complications many years back. The father was also frail and ailing due to HIV. 

Investigations are on to ascertain the reason behind the girls’ decision to end their life , although most feel that frustration and depression over their plight caused them to take this extreme step.
